Deep Breath started as a quick study, but ended up feeling like it was about that split second where you pause and don’t quite know what’s happening next. It could be relief, anticipation, exhaustion, or something else entirely. I like leaving that open.
This was also a chance to play with neon and fluorescent paints while focusing on value and color. Sometimes a painting doesn’t need to explain itself. It just needs to capture a feeling.
