Acquired for Private Collection
Find & Explore began with a reference photo by my friend TJ Mundell, but my goal was never to recreate it exactly. Instead, I used it as a starting point to explore expressive mark making, exaggerated color, and moments of abstraction. I wanted the work to feel energetic and alive, with bold patterns and layered surfaces that invite viewers to slow down and discover something new each time they look.
The title became more than the name of the work. It inspired my 2024 solo exhibition, Find & Explore, at Steckline Gallery, continuing the playful naming approach that began with my previous exhibition, Show & Tell. This work marked the beginning of that body of work and established the visual language that carried through the rest of the exhibition.
This original work has been acquired and now lives in a private collection.
