Handful is a small polyptych that let me focus on mark making, pattern, and the human figure in a more intimate way. I liked the idea that even something simple becomes heavy if you hold it out long enough. That physical feeling became a metaphor for the emotional weight we all carry.
The forms have a playful double meaning. They can read as masculine shapes, but they also echo prayer beads or a rosary, bringing in ideas of faith, comfort, routine, and what we hold onto when life feels heavy.
I kept the background patterning subtle so the bright complementary colors could take center stage. Even though each panel stands on its own, together they tell a fuller story about strength, vulnerability, and the things we choose to carry.
