Two Toned & Tools

This piece started with a found print that already had its own history, and I liked the idea of adding another layer to it instead of covering it up. I kept the color palette simple so the portrait would stand out while still letting the original print peek through. The everyday tools scattered throughout the composition carry their own double meanings, leaving just enough room for viewers to decide whether they’re symbols of building, fixing, protecting, or something else entirely. Sometimes the most playful pieces end up asking the biggest questions.
